All together the Oticon Hearing Foundation donated $7,800 worth of hearing aids, a microphone that will transmit the wearer’s voice into Flores’ hearing aids, a Bluetooth controller that will bring the TV audio into his hearing aids and a remote control he can wear to adjust the volume. Hearing aid specialist Saleem Assaf of the Better Hearing Center of Austin donated his services to fit and maintain the hearing aids. As part of the program, donations help 12 featured families, like the Floreses, and then help hundreds of other families through local nonprofits.
